The actor, originally from Pune, started his career as a model. Innumerable print and television ads later, he shifted to Bollywood where he managed to bag significant roles in big films. Now the man is back in news with his latest success story -- Main Teri Parchhaiyan Hoon -- a serial on NDTV Imagine... He is playing the role of Sachin Tyagi, the sole earning person in that household. The story revolves around the male protagonist who suddenly loses his wife, and then enters a young girl into his life. Sameer believes the he relates very much to the character he plays. “I am myself very ambitious, a family oriented man, so it is fun to portray this type of a role.” .

Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is a historical television series on Zee TV created by Contiloe Telefilms. As the title suggests, the story is based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Central Indian rebellion of 1858 (which was one of the last series of actions in the Indian Rebellion of 1857). The series premiered on August 18, 2009.
